SKYPE: Skype is a free downloadable software that allows you to conference or video call other users with a Skype account and PC camera. There are many schools which host One-To-One classrooms where students use Skype & video conferencing along with SmartBoard Technology to "meet" with other classes. It would be very easy to set up video conferencing between the two schools so students can get to know students outside of their regular school. You may also want to use this service to call community professionals to speak to your class, or find a class anywhere in the world to be "e-pals" with. One school in the Archdiocese has successfully partnered a 7th grade class with a class in Italy! The students prepare questions and plan for each session. This particular class meets every Monday morning. I would be happy to help set this up for anyone who is interested.
